Consultations

Initial Consultation

You do not need a referral from a doctor to make an appointment. Please see the Fees & Rebates page for more information.

You will be emailed an online consent form which you must complete prior to your appointment. You will also be provided with a questionnaire to get a sense of what you are currently experiencing and how you are being impacted on a day-to-day basis. This questionnaire will be administered again in future sessions to help assess your progress.

In the initial consultation, we will begin by revisiting your right to privacy and confidentiality. We will discuss the history of your presenting concerns and be asked questions about your life including whether you have had any previous contact with a mental health professional and what is of greatest concern to you currently.

We will conclude the session by collaboratively identifying goals and areas for improvement and decide on if and when to book subsequent sessions. Relevant resources may be offered for your perusal if discussed in the session

Subsequent consultations

We will revisit how the initial session went. You will be asked about whether any resources provided were helpful or not - both of which are important. If at any stage you feel that you are not progressing or that we may be the wrong fit for you, you are encouraged to speak up, so as to find you the right support.

Throughout subsequent sessions, there will be deeper exploration of your concerns. You may be advised to take further questionnaires to aid in assessment and ongoing management. Once you feel you have reached your goals and resolved your concerns, we will discuss closure of your case and you may be referred to your GP for ongoing maintenance. You are welcome to return at any time you feel like you need further support.
